Xiaomi’s newly formed sub-brand Redmi has been teasing their flagship smartphone for a few months now. The brand’s CEO has already confirmed that their upcoming flagship will be powered by Snapdragon 855. But the date of the phone’s announcement is not known until now which might be May 13.
This particular information comes from Tang Mu, general manager of Xiaomi Smart Hardware division. He also teases another device which will be unveiled alongside Redmi flagship. Going by his position, this unknown device could be an IoT product rather than a smartphone. On the other hand, it could also be a lite version of the same phone as Xiaomi’s Mi lite series.
Other than Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the upcoming Redmi flagship will come with other interesting features as well. According to previous leaks, the phone will feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with under display fingerprint sensor, a 48MP primary rear camera, a 4,000 mAH battery with support for 27W fast charging, headphone jack, and NFC. The best part will be the pricing which will be definitely lower than any other flagship in a typical Redmi manner.
