Redmi launched its miraculously cheap, but great performers – the Redmi K20 Series of devices in India today. The K20 price in India starts at Rs. 21,999 and the Redmi K20 Pro price in India starts at Rs. 27,999. Interestingly, Xiaomi has announced a special edition of the K20 Series which is a pole apart from the standard variants, at least in terms of the price it bears. The all new Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition which was leaked quite some time ago is official carrying a price tag of whopping INR. 4,80,000($6,978).
Obviously the K20 Signature Edition is not meant for the commons. As per the company, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition is made of pure gold and diamond. That means even Xiaomi can’t afford to release the device in huge numbers and it has revealed that only 20 special units of this Signature Edition will be put for sale.
Keeping all those ornamental embellishment aside, the internals of the Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition is same as the standard K20 Pro. It features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR display with 2340 × 1080 pixels screen resolution with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 Color Gamut, and 600 nits brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm octa-core Mobile Processor clocked at 2.84GHz, along with Adreno 640 GPU.
It’s to be seen whether Xiaomi will be able to sell all the 20 units in India or not. We really wonder if any Indian would pick up a device of such price. Well, may be as a part of prestige and show the status there ought to be potential buyer for the device. Let us wait and see what happens.
