Samsung Ahead In The Smartphone Market In Q1 2013

According to recent report from trendForce, a global research firm, 3 out 10 smartphones sold in the Q1 of 2013 were  of the Samsung. By looking from another dimension Samsung sold 30% of total smartphone sales in last first quarter of 2013.

Overall in Q1 the smartphone market saw a 9.4% quarter on quarter growth rate from Q4 2012 to Q1 2013, with total shipments reaching 216.4 million units so far this year, out of which Samsung’s shipped 65 Million units this quarter. While Apple tumbled down to second spot as the iPhone 5 has been unable to satisfy consumers’ desire for innovation, it shipped 37.5 million units of the device in the first quarter.

HTC is at third spot with 4.4%, the fourth is Nokia whose share is further reduced by another percentage point to 4.3% of the market. Image pictured above indicates smartphone sales in 2012 and in the first quarter of 2013.
