Following a fully functional Bixby rollout in the US and South Korea, Samsung is spreading it to other parts of the world. The exiled AI is now receiving updates to the main app as well as new services like Bixby Global Action, Bixby Wakeup, and Bixby Dictation. Users of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ in the United Kingdom, India, Germany, South Africa, and the Netherlands have seen the new changes in their phones.
What is surprising is that Bixby Voice still doesn’t work in other countries yet. So most of these updates would be useless. One explanation would be that Samsung is preparing for full functionality and would only activate it through a server-side switch.
A global rollout has long been pending if you ask us. Users have been kept waiting for long over a feature which was promised out of the box.
Some users have reported the Bixby Dictation works but is very error prone. The transcription quality is pretty bad.
On the bright side, this could mean that finally, other countries will get Bixby Voice soon. Let us know if you saw any of the above-mentioned changes on your Galaxy S8 in the comments below.
