Samsung Galaxy A51 start receiving One UI 2.1 and April 2020 Security patch update

The Korean giant is rolling out a new software update for Galaxy A51 which was launched last December with Android 10 based One UI 2.0.  The new One UI 2.1 update for the smartphone brings various new changes and enhancements improving the overall experience. The latest firmware build also features April 2020 Security patch with various security fixes and tweaks.

The new firmware version A515FXXU3BTD4 is rolling out to all the Galaxy A51 units across Afganisthan, Russia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Israel. It weighs over 1.25GB in size.

Samsung Galaxy A51 gets improved AR Emoji, Quick Share, Music Share, and a lot of other features with One UI 2.1. Moreover, a whole new Samsung Keyboard and gallery app with various improvements are also part of the update. The gallery app now group similar images in albums. The users can now manually edit AR Emoji with improved facial expression. However, all the previously generated AR emojis will be deleted.

However, the update does not carry all the One UI 2.1 features, it misses on AR Zone and Live Caption.

In case if you haven’t received the update yet, then make sure to manually check it by going to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install on your phone.

Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications

The smartphone was launched last year in December with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display. The display outputs the 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Exynos 9611 chipset based on the 10nm processor powers the device with its octa-core CPUs and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It is available in multiple storage options of 64GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM.

There’s a quad rear camera module featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera, 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
