Samsung officially announces the 2018 version of Galaxy A8 and A8+

Samsung’s Galaxy A8 2018 as well as A8+ 2018 were leaked multiple times for the past few weeks. It was actually considered as 2018 versions of A5 and A7 till last week or so until a new leak emerged which confirmed them as the new incarnation Galaxy A8. But, now everything is confirmed as Samsung officially unveiled these devices earlier today.

The 2018 A8 duo come with Infinity displays similar to their bigger brothers Galaxy S8 duo and Galaxy Note 8. Thus, the fingerprint sensor is moved to the back below the camera module. Also, they sport dual cameras on the front which is first for a Samsung smartphone. The dual camera setup on the front also has Live Focus mode for portrait shots which was first introduced in the Galaxy Note 8. The bodies of both the smartphones are made up of glass and metal like any A series. Also, they are IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

Both the devices will be available starting early January. Samsung didn’t reveal the price, but according to some sources, the Galaxy A8 will be priced at €499, whereas the A8+ will be available at €599 .
