Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus – 1GHz upgrade, Android 2.3

The Samsung Galaxy Ace was definitely one of 2011′s more popular Android models, especially in parts of the world where users aren’t keen on mortgaging their future selves to the tune of £36 a month to get the newest super-high-end mobile.

So now Samsung has made another one. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is a small update, offering a faster 1GHz processor, larger 3.65″ screen running at 320×480 resolution, 5MP camera with LED flash and a marginally redesigned and slicker case. Here it is:

And yes, the Galaxy Ace Plus will arrive with Android 2.3 and Samsung’s TouchWiz skin. You wouldn’t expect Samsung to debut Android 4.0 on something “affordable” and for the masses, would you? Here’s the full press release:

The phone has been designed to be simple yet elegant.
The GALAXY Ace Plus is backed by an impressive 1GHz processor and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity, providing all the versatility and browsing performance that today’s busy and sociable young professionals need. WiFi 802.11 functionality offers lightning-fast speeds for browsing, downloading and video streaming. Application startups are faster with virtually no lag time, even while multitasking.
