Good news for Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro users as Samsung has started rolling out the Android Oreo update for the device in China. Perhaps it marks the second major update for the device that was shipped with Android Marshmallow on-board in the year 2016. By this, Samsung put a full-stop to the notion that C-Series are destined to get only one major update through out their lifetime.
Galaxy C-Series are usually Chinese exclusive smartphones and the main purpose of this series was to regain the lost glory of Galaxy devices in Chinese market. However, it seems, Samsung has done with the C-Series and as its result we haven’t come across any new C-Series device from the firm in the recent past. In spite of that, Samsung might have a plan of giving good, if not best, software support for the existing C-Series. At least that is what we can infer from the the latest Samsung Experience 9.0 based on Android Oreo 8.0 update for the mid-ranger.
The OTA update bears the baseband version C9000ZCU1ZRFA and is available for the Galaxy C9 Pro with TGY and CHC as CSC(Country/Carrier Specific Customization Code). Only few hours have passed since the OTA started its roll-out and hence the firmware is not available on the Samsung server yet.
Well, let us hope that the update will be soon available on other C9 Pro models that went for sale outside China such as SM-C900F in Europe/India. Note that the Chinese Galaxy C9 Pro has model number SM-G9000.
