Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8, the company’s flagship devices from 2017 are still one of the top-notch smartphones in the market. Recently, Samsung has started pushing an update to both devices that brings a new video lockscreen feature. Samsung exclusively debuted with the video lockscreen feature on Samsung Galaxy S9 which will now be available on last year’s flagship duos.

The latest update comes with firmware version G950FXXU2CRF7 on Samsung Galaxy S8 while the Galaxy Note 8 gets updated to firmware version N950FXXU3CRF4. Interestingly, Samsung did not mention about this new feature in the update changelog. In case you did not receive this update yet, you will definitely be getting it shortly.

This new feature can be accessed by heading to Backgrounds tab of Samsung themes. In the Backgrounds tab, a variety of pre-optimized videos are available to make your lockscreen look pretty cool and attractive. Once you setup the lockscreen option, the selected video starts playing immediately as soon as you turn on the screen of your Galaxy S8 or Note 8 device. This new feature also allows to set up your own video as the video lockscreen by choosing a video of your choice in the Gallery app.

This video lockscreen feature makes your lockscreen look beautiful and it is not less than an icing on the cake for Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8 users. Did you receive this new update already? If yes, please share your experience with this new feature in the comments section below.
