Samsung, the South-Korean tech giant introduced Galaxy S8 and S8+ as its flagship devices for 2017. Both Galaxy S8 and S8+ were released worldwide with two different processors powering the devices- Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895. TWRP for the Exynos powered devices was released back in April. However, the users with Snapdragon 835 variant were left waiting. However, TWRP has now been released for much-awaited Snapdragon variants for the Galaxy S8 and S8+.
In order to use TWRP, you still need to have an unlocked bootloader. Since, there is not an option to unlock the US Galaxy S8 and S8+’s bootloader, at least for now, the users located in the United States are still not able to use TWRP on their device. The Chinese or Hong Kong variants (SM-G9500 and SM-G9550). However, have unlockable bootloaders to use TWRP.
