Samsung Galaxy S9 starts getting September Security Patch

Samsung starts rolling out Android security patch for the month of September to Galaxy S9. Yesterday company has rolled out AR Emoji feature and Sept security patch to its Galaxy S8 , S8+ and Note 8. Coming back to this news, Galaxy S9 update brings the firmware version G960FXXU2BRI3 to the device.

The Galaxy S9 update weighs about 170 MB in size. Update packs with the September security patch based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The September security patch includes of 64 fixes released by Google for Android this month. Samsung adds 18 improvements to this itself. This update also fix leaks in clipboard and in Quick Tools Edge Panel.

However, Galaxy S9 users are waiting for a big update of Bixby 2.0, which might come in next month. Moreover, Android 9.0 Pie is also expected on the device by early 2019.

The security update on Galaxy S9 is currently rolling out in Europe. It will soon be rolling out in other markets like Asia and North America. As it is OTA update, So it might take some time to reach each ad every user. Don’t panic if the update notification is not popped up on your phone’s display.
