Exynos 9810 is Samsung’s second generation SoC manufactured on 10nm technology. Also, it is company’s third processor build on their custom cores. As for construction, the SoC consists of four four custom cores which can reach the speed of 2.9 Ghz at max and another 4 Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.9 Ghz. The SoC also comes with improved cache memory as well as wider pipeline to increment the performance. Samsung says, the single core performance score has doubled and multi core score has increased by 40% than its predecessor. As for GPU is concerned, the SoC now comes with newer ARM Mali-G72 MP18.

The SoC also has new dedicated image processing unit and upgraded multi-format codec (MFC). Thus, photography and videography will have major improvements especially in low lights and stabilization. Which also includes ability to record 4K videos at 120 frames per second. The modem is also improved to support Gigabit LTE speeds upto 1.2 Gbps.

Last but not least, it also comes with some AI capabilities which is taken care by the new neural processing unit. It will help to recognize people and items in images faster while doing image search (probably via Bixby). Also, it will enable to scan user’s face in 3D for hybrid face detection. A separate security unit is also present here to store biometric information similar to Apple’s A11 Fusion chip and Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 845 processor.

The Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC will be powering the upcoming Galaxy S9 duo in some markets like India. This SoC will be also powering the next Galaxy Note.
