Sony Added one more device to its Xperia Lineup called Xperia Sola. The phone looks to be a mid-ranged device, with a
- 3.7″ Reality Display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine, a
- 1GHz dual-core processor, a
- 5-megapixel rear camera,
- NFC, DLNA, xLOUD and
- 3D surround sound
Access to the Sony Entertainment Network and pre-installed Video and Music Unlimited apps. It is somewhat frustrating that the smartphone will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, yet fortunately, an update to Ice Cream Sandwich is planned for the summer of 2012. Seems like the Pepper might simply be a version of the Xperia sola that is tailored for the Asian market. No word on pricing or a release date but the phone is marked as “Coming soon” on the product page.
