Sony has been quite consistent rolling out updates and security patches for most of its devices. At this time, the company has started pushing an update with August security patch for Xperia X, Xperia XZ and X Performance. The update, however, does not bring any major changes, it includes the most recent security update for each device.
The update for Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance comes with build number 41.2.A.7.53, while the Xperia X users report the updated build number as 34.3.A.0.217. With this update arriving pretty soon, we expect other eligible Xperia handsets to receive the update sooner than expected.
While this update is pretty small in size, it is still advisable to keep your device charged to at least 50 percent. Moreover, your device should be connected to a reliable Wi-Fi connection for seamless download.
The update is being rolled out over-the-air, and may take a while reaching all the users. If you own any of the three handsets and don’t see the update coming in next few days, you may always head to the settings menu to check for the update manually.
