Xiaomi is toting a new ultra-affordable smartphone in its affordable Redmi series. The Chinese firm has now officially released Xiaomi Redmi 5A. And, will be available for sale only in China initially, of course, carrying a dirt cheap price tag. Similarly, later at a point of time the successor of Redmi 4A will be launched across globe as well.
Moving onto the hardware specs that Redmi 5A has to offer. Literally, we could see no drastic upgradation over its predecessor. There lies a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform fabricated under 14nm FinFet process at its heart. Since, the Mobile Platform is supposed to be more power-efficient, Xiaomi claims the Redmi 5A to offer a mind blowing 8-Day battery backup.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A boasts a 5 inch screen with 720p resolution. It consists, 2GB of RAM and 16GB primary storage. The internal storage can be further expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. For that, a hybrid dual SIM slot is available on the device.
In camera department, the Redmi 5A possess 13MP back camera (f/2.2) and a 5MP front camera (f/2.0). The camera can capture FHD 1080p video @30fps.
The LTE supporting device ships with Android Nougat topped by latest MIUI 9 pre-installed. The software is capable of making calls over LTE network. Or simply, it’s VoLTE enabled.
As far as its pricing and availability is considered. The Redmi 5A is launched in China for CNY 599(Rs. 6000). It will be up for pre-order on Xiaomi Mall, JD.com, Lynx and others soon.
