Verizon Samsung Galaxy A20 and A50 starts receiving February 2020 security update

Some magic has happened to the Samsung devices from the past few months as they are continually receiving the updates, no matter locked or unlocked. After rolling out February 2020 Security Patch to Galaxy Note 9, Note 10, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S10 Lite, now its time for Verizon based mid-range Galaxy devices. Namely, Samsung Galaxy A50 and A20 are receiving the latest security patch in the US.

Verizon Galaxy A50 and A20 February Update details

The new update for Galaxy A50 and A20 brings February 2020 security patch improving the overall device and data security.  The firmware version PPR1.180610.011.A505USQS4ATA3 is gradually rolling out on Verizon Galaxy A50 in the States-side.

However, Samsung Galaxy A20 on the Verizon network is also receiving the update with firmware version PPR1.180610.011.A205USQS4ATB1. It also brings the latest security patch.

Verizon has advised users to connect to the WiFi network and fully charge your device before initiating the software upgrade. The users can manually check the update by heading over to Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates. 

The Galaxy A series has remained people’s choice in the mid-range category throughout the US. Especially, the Galaxy A50 has garnered massive sales and stood as one of the most popular device.

However, the Galaxy A50 recently received an Android 10 update in the US and other countries. It was launched in India along with other siblings in the same series.

Galaxy A50 and A20 Specs

The Korean giant launched both the smartphones in the first quarter of last year. Both the devices feature the same 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1560 pixels resolution and packed with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with Exynos 9610 chipset whereas the Galaxy A20 features an Exynos 7884 chipset.
