Verizon To Charge $30 Upgradation Fees From 22nd April

Verizon announced that beginning April 22nd, Verizon will charge a $30 “upgrade fee” to upgrade to a new device when re-signing a new contract. Original Words from Verizon’s press release:

On April 22, Verizon Wireless is implementing a $30 upgrade fee for existing customers purchasing new mobile equipment at a discounted price with a two-year contract. This fee will help us continue to provide customers with the level of service and support they have come to expect which includes Wireless Workshops, online educational tools, and consultations with experts who provide advice and guidance on devices that are more sophisticated than ever.

The fee comes in below the $36 upgrade charge of Sprint and AT&T and above T-Mobile’s $18 tariff.

  1. I know most companies charge an upgrade fee but if your signing a new two year agreement I believe it is unfair. Let’s all go pre-paid
