Ever since Facebook purchased Whatsapp, it has been adding a lot of features that are similar to the Facebook app. These include the image status and disappearing updates. One such feature that was recently introduced to the Facebook app was Colourful backgrounds for Status updates. Whatsapp is now currently testing this feature in its latest beta update.
This feature is live in the latest beta update with the version number 2.17.291. However, it is currently available only for a few users and is expected to roll out to more people in the next update. You can access this colourful background for status updates from the status tab. It could be added by clicking on the new pencil icon towards the bottom right corner.
Much like the old status updates, the new colourful status update also has three different icons at the bottom. These include an icon for inserting an emoji, changing the font and changing the background colour of your text status update. If you can’t wait until the colorful feature comes in stable version of the app, than you have to sign up for Whatsapp beta program.
