Whatsapp Hits 900 Million Active Users

After 600 Million, 700 Million and 64 Billion Messages sent a day, Now, Whatsapp has crossed 900 Million Active users mark. It’s the only social Media after Facebook that crossed this mark. Earlier, Facebook has crossed 1 Billion active users couple of years ago.

whatsapp 900 million

Acquired by Facebook last year for $19 billion, WhatsApp has seen its user base double over the course of the year, with India and Brazil representing key regions for the service. There’s currently no monetization for the app through which they can earn. earlier they opted for $1 per year for a user but after Facebook’s acquisition they fired this thing.

To awnser a similar question about Monetization of Whatsapp, Mark Zuckerberg  said that “there are many clear ways that we can monetize” once a product hits one billion users, and that figure is just over the hill for WhatsApp, assuming that it maintains its impressive growth.

There are lot of things that are happening through the Whatsapp. In India, companies are offering discounts via Whatsapp. Hope we will soon see a business model for the Whatsapp.

BTW how many of you are active on Whatsapp?
