Guys over Whatsapp were already giving signs of shedding support for Symbian platform and now official confirmation is here. WhatsApp is also going to suspend its Symbian app rom December 31st this year.
A popup message now appears to every WhatsApp users on Symbian OS:
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use WhatsApp after 31/12/2016 because WhatsApp will no longer support your phone.
Already, whatsapp seems to be only one of the few companies who are still giving Symbian apps for service. WhatsApp departure is another sign of slow death of the symbian platform which served mankind for several years.
