Xiaomi announces devices eligible for Android Q update

Android Q is just around the corner and is expected to be announced in August like every year. Xiaomi, being one of the Android OEMs, announced the devices that are eligible for the Android Q update. The Chinese smartphone maker mentioned the update will be released to their premium smartphones in Q4 2019 followed by budget devices in Q1 2020.

The list of Xiaomi smartphones that are eligible for Android Q update is only 11 as of now. However, more devices are expected to be added soon like the Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, and whatever smartphones Xiaomi and Redmi come up with next. Until then, these are the devices that are eligible for the Android Q update.

Q4 2019

  • Xiaomi Mi 8
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 In-screen Fingerprint Edition
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition
  • Xiaomi Mix 2S
  • Xiamoi Mix 3
  • Xiaomi Mi 9
  • Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
  • Redmi K20
  • Redmi K20 Pro

Q1 2020

  • Redmi Note 7
  • Redmi Note 7 Pro

Other than the Android Q update, Xiaomi is also expected to release MIUI 11 with improvements and new features. It is possible that it could debut (at least beta) before the release of Android Q by Google. If it happens, the above-mentioned devices’ Android Q update could arrive with MIUI 11 skin on top.
