Xiaomi, China’s Largest Smartphone Maker in 2015

Here surfaced one another report regarding the Xiaomi’s empire. As per Canalys and Strategy Analytics report, Xiaomi once again has topped as largest smartphone maker in China in 2015.

In detailing, Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi led China’s market with 67.5 million shipments throughout the year, followed closely by rival Huawei which shipped 62.2 million.

Huawei saw its shipments increase from 41.3 to 62.2 million year over year, a huge growth rate of almost 51 percent. Xiaomi saw a growth rate of just 17 percent, while Vivo and OPPO grew by 52 and 49 percent respectively. Interestingly, the research notes that Huawei’s average smartphone selling price rose from $216 to $306 last year, while Xiaomi’s fell from $189 to $149.

Canalys analyst Nicole Peng, believes

“Huawei is going to be very strong in 2016,” she said. “There is a change of consumer buying pattern where people are buying more premium handsets. This is beneficial to Huawei and  Vivo, but isn’t playing to Xiaomi’s strengths.” Vivo is another Chinese smartphone maker.

Huawei’s average smartphone sale price in 2015 rose to $306 from $216 in 2014, while Xiaomi’s fell to $149 in 2015 from $189 the year before, according to Canalys. The average price in China rose to $319 last year versus $260 in 2014.

Also we expect that Xiaomi Mi5 will make some more sales around this year. It is expected that Xiaomi is going to unveil one more flagship this year.
