Xiaomi is possibly working on Mi Pad 4 with Snapdragon 660

Xiaomi is growing popular worldwide due to their cost efficient devices with better hardware than their competitors. Yesterday, Xiaomi announced their most anticipated and leaked device – the Mi 6X with Snapdragon 660. And now folks at XDA developers have confirmed the existence of Mi Pad 4 based on the firmware files they have acquired.

The last Mi Pad was announced in April 2017 with Mediatek MT8176 and 4 GB RAM. But, the upcoming Mi Pad will feature a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The display of the device is not known exactly but it could be an 18:9 LCD panel. Going by last year’s Mi Pad 3, this year’s model also may not feature a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Sadly, there’s no information on RAM but it will feature a massive 6,000 mAh battery. Other than that, it also does not have support for NFC like any other Xiaomi device.

As for cameras are concerned, it will sport a 13MP OmniVision OV13855 sensor on the back with f/2.0 aperture and portrait mode. Whereas on the front, it will have a  5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor again with f/2.0 aperture. Last but not least, it will run on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. As for the release date, Xiaomi hasn’t posted any teaser or sent media invites yet. Hence, it is not sure when it will be announced.
