Xiaomi is all set to launch Redmi 2 in China on January 9. Availability of the device outside China is unknown for now. Device is roughly priced at Rs.7,100 only. Redmi 2 is an improved version of its predecessor Redmi 1s. Appealing  features of Redmi 2 are its 4G LTE support and 64 bit Qualcomm processor.
Redmi 2 is available in four different colors – Yellow, Pink, Green, White and Black. Display of the device is same as that of Redmi 1S , 4.7 inch with 720X1280 HD resolution. Device runs on 64 bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Aderno 306 GPU. Smartphone supports dual SIM with 1GB of RAM and will have built in 8 GB storage (expandable to 32 GB). Phone is backed up with 2200mAh battery. Device weighs 133gm with thickness of 8.9 mm. Handset includes Rear camera of 8MP and front camera of 2MP. Improved features of Redmi 2 over Redmi 1S are its 2200 mAh powered battery which in 1S is 2000 mAh and its improved 2MP front camera compared to 1.6MP in Redmi 1S. Redmi 2 is 5mm thinner than 1S.
