The leaks and rumors about the forthcoming Mi8 have been settled down as Xiaomi has officially revealed the launch date of the handset. Previously the device has appeared in a number of leaks and most of its specifications are already available on the internet. Another Chinese giant OnePlus has just revealed their OnePlus 6, it would be interesting to see how the upcoming Mi8 and OnePlus 6 will compare to each other. On the official Xiaomi Twitter handle they have confirmed that on 31st May a new device known as Mi8 would be coming, however, the poster only says “8”. Along with Mi8, we are expecting some more gadgets like Mi Band 3. Xiaomi’s Mi 8 is expected to come with an In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner which for now is only available on Vivo devices. As suggested by the latest leak the device will possess a similar design to iPhone X and for Face Recognition it will be made available with some special additional sensors.
It will run on the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with optional 6GB/8GB of RAM. Some rumors are theirs according to which this time Xiaomi will launch a 512GB variant of the phone however official revealings are there to support this fact. The expected pricing for Mi8(6GB RAM+64GB ROM) would start from CNY 2799(29000 INR) while the (8GB RAM+128GB ROM) version would be priced a little higher at CNY 3199(34,000 INR).
