Google’s Android Security Bulletin for December was updated on 4th of December. This month has two security levels and they are December 1 and December 5 respectively. Google and many other OEMs have already updated some of their smartphones with December patch. And now, Xiaomi Mi A1 is receiving the update, however it should have got it first as it is an Android One device.
The update weighs 153 MB and doesn’t bring any new changes. It only says about December Security patch, stability and some optimization for performance. In case you do not know, this is what described for almost every Security patch update. And lastly, Xiaomi Mi A1 is receiving the December 1st Security level.
Xiaomi and Google promised faster updates for the Mi A1 as it comes under Android One programme. But, it doesn’t seem so, as the device is getting updates after many other smartphones. Also, the company promised Android Oreo before the end of the year. But, only now they have started recruiting beta testers for Oreo and the same will be rolling out after December. Only time will tell whether Xiaomi will able to deliver stable Oreo update before the end of the year.
