Xiaomi Mi A3 series will arrive with Snapdragon 730 and 675 respectively

Xiaomi has launched a number of smartphones this year ranging from entry-level Redmi 7A to flagship Mi Mix 3 5G. The company even introduced two new series – Redmi K series (budget flagships) and Mi CC9 series (selfie-centric phones). And now a leak suggests the Mi A3 series will arrive soon with Snapdragon 730 and 675 respectively.

The Chinese smartphone maker has updated all its smartphone lineup for 2019 except for the Mi A series which comes with Android One rather than MIUI. The first two iterations of this series of smartphones were rebranded Mi X series phones. Since this year the company did not launch any Mi X series phone, the newly introduced Mi CC9 series were rumoured and expected to be the Mi A3 series. However, that is not the case anymore as the leak source has confirmed the Mi A3 series will indeed arrive with Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 675 respectively.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 series is expected to consist of Mi A3 an Mi A3 Lite like last year. The regular Mi A3 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 730 as found on Redmi K20, whereas the Mi A3 Lite will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 processor similar to Redmi Note 7 Pro. However, both the phones will have the same 4,030 mAh battery and FHD+ display with different sizes(6.01-inches and 6.39-inches respectively). The former will also feature a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. As these phones are thought to be the tweaked versions of Mi CC9 series since they have same model numbers varying only by a single letter, they might also come with AMOLED panels to utilize under-display fingerprint sensor.

The Mi A3 series codenamed bamboo_sprout and cosmos_sprout is expected to launch soon as they have already cleared FCC and IMDA certifications. There are no proper estimated launch dates available as of now. Going by the series history, it will probably be unveiled in August or September.
