Xiaomi rolls out MIUI 10 as a Recovery ROM, Based on Android 8.1 Oreo

If you have ever used a Xiaomi smartphone then you may be aware of the fact that they are a little slow in providing latest Android updates for their smartphones. Devices from Xiaomi runs on the custom MIUI based on the top of Android OS. To be honest, Xiaomi is the only brand that even provides MIUI updates to the handsets that are age-old. Xiaomi has just released the global Android Oreo ROM for the Redmi Note 5 Pro handset. So for more information about it let’s jump to the next paragraph.

Even our years old Redmi 1S is still getting updates, however, the case with the Redmi Note 5 Pro is a little different. Xiaomi for the first time has provided the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update for any of their handset except the newly released Mi8-series. This time Xiaomi has even provided the fix for the Android Oreo-based update so that users may not have to face delay issue. Recently the brand has made an addition of the Redmi Note 5 Pro in their list of the early devices to get updates.

The latest MIUI 10 8.8.6 is already available in the Chinese market, though it is limited for the users who have enrolled for the Beta programme. Luckily a Recovery ROM for the Redmi Note 5 Pro has appeared with which you can install directly on the phone. OTA update is also available, however, it would only work on the devices that have successfully rolled out for the Beta programme. A custom recovery like TWRP is needed to install the ROM.
