Asus has recently unveiled its Zenfone 5Z smartphone which is doing great in the budget flagship category but today we aren’t here to recite you that old poem. A long time ago Asus has launched its Zenfone 3 Max handset in the market and the brand has made a new announcement today. If you are using the handset then you will be happy to know that device is now receiving the much awaited Android 8.1 Oreo update. So let’s dive a little deep to know more about it.

In the software department, Asus has taken a lead as still a number of well-known brands are lacking behind in this segment. The update is rolling out for Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL and brings the all-new ZenUI 5.0. This update brings the version to v15.0200.1807.406. This specific update is feature rich and brings all new features including PIP mode(Picture in Picture), new launcher style, new settings menu, more refined UI, Autofill, Smart text selection, Notification dots, etc.

Other features like Adaptive icons, redesigned emoji pack, Instant apps, etc are also included. Asus smartphones generally come with some pre-installed bloatware but this update is exactly the opposite of it. This update will uninstall some useless apps though you can get them back through Play Store.

According to Asus, this update will decrease the internal storage of the device by a small margin. Please make sure that your device should have at least 1.5GB’s free space. If you haven’t received the update notification yet then there is nothing to worry as it will take a week to arrive. For more updates stay tuned to GoAndroid.
