Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 gets stable Android Pie Update in India

Finally, Asus has started rolling out the much-awaited Android Pie update for the Zenfone Max Pro M1. Currently, the update is being rolled out in India over-the-air. The changelog of the update goes as follow: asus zenfone max pro m1 pie update

What’s New

  • Android P upgrade
  • Update security patch

The OTA update that we received weighs in at around 1.5GB in size and bears the version 16.2017.1903.250. Along with the brand new Android Pie OS, the March security patch is also in tow.

It seems Asus has silently included CameraAPI2 support for the device with the Android Pie. Note that, it’s not mentioned on the changelog, but hey, the CameraAPI2 is enabled by default. Indeed, it’s icing on the cake as the Max Pro M1 users need not want to go through the Fastboot stuffs to enable Camera API anymore.

Nonetheless, it took a long time for Asus to push the major update, despite the device having nearly stock Android. Even, custom developers have already brought plenty of Android Pie ROMs for the device that too with a plethora of customizations on-board. So, we really think Asus needs to step-up their update game before it’s too late.

If you’re an Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 user, it’s time to have the Android P flavor by heading over to Settings>System>Update.

He is so desperate to try Custom Roms such that tripped Knox of his brand new Galaxy within 24 Hrs of its purchase. Purely "flashaholic" and can torture his device to any extend for deadly customizations.

  1. I just received it through OTA. But Oreo seems to be much better than this as it has battery drainage issue.

    • In deed brother, Pie has a serious battery issue. Hardly we can obtain 7Hr of SOT. Recent update too didn’t bring any improvement. As per Asus, they’re working on fixing the drain specially on standby.
