Google Duo was first announced alongside Allo at Google I/O 2016 keynote. Later, it made to the Play Store in August of that year itself. Since then, the app has been updated with some new features and improvements. As of now, the app is only available on Android and iOS. But, it is now making its way to Smart Displays as announced at CES 2018. Above all, the app will be also getting support for other platform as well as some new features, confirms the lead engineer.

Justin Uberti, the lead engineer of Google Duo tweeted the presentation video of Smart display saying that Google Duo will be coming soon to that hardware. Replying to that tweet, a random user asked Justin a number of questions which included the support for web and Chrome OS, group calls and better audio quality as you can see from the above embedded tweet. Surprisingly, Justin simply replied ‘Yes’ confirming the future of Google Duo.
Its good to know that the developers have planned a wonderful future for this almost 2 years old app. However, only time will tell when these features will be heading to the app. What are your thoughts on Google Duo? Do you use it regularly? Let us know in the comment section below.
