Nokia rolls out Face Recognition on Nokia 8, Nokia 7 Plus via an Update

Face Recognition is available on Android devices for ages now. But in 2018 it has received a tremedous response from the users community. To fulfill that next level expectation brands have burned candles at both the ends. OnePlus is among the list of a few brands who have evolved a lot and it can be seen in the super fast face unlock on their smartphone. This time HMD global has taken the lead and from now some of their best smartphones will support Face Unlock. If you are using a Nokia device then don’t forget to read the entire write-up.

The Face Unlock feature has been rolled out to 4 of the Nokia devices namely: Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 8, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 6.1. If you own any of these handsets then after installing the update you will be able to unlock your devices with your Face data. The face unlock on these devices is software based unlike the specific hardware employed in Apple’s iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi8. Face Recognition on these devices is quite reliable but is not something that can be compared to the Fingerprint Recognition hardware.

This feature is in rolling phase and is arriving on devices in the form of an OTA update. If you haven’t received the update yet then there is nothing to bother as in a week or two you will be surely getting it. You can check the update manually as well by jumping to the settings menu>>about phone>>software updates. For more Android related updates stay tuned to GoAndroid.
