We all know that OnePlus is all set to announce their next device – the OnePlus 6 very soon. The company has been teasing as well as confirming some of the features of their upcoming device. Now, another one comes from the company’s CEO Pete Lau himself. He published a post in the OnePlus Forums confirming the new glass back design.
Pete Lau says that users people relate deeply to the device they use. Hence, based on the recent industrial design, the OnePlus 6 will feature a glass back design. He adds that OnePlus 6’s glass design is all about “sense of value” and “premium hand-feel”. Further, he also compares the metal back and glass back saying the latter “communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling”.
According to Pete, the design team had tested over 70 prototypes before settling down with the perfect one. Also, the OnePlus 6 glass will consist of 5 layers of nanotech coating rather than 3 which is industry standard. However, this will not change how the device feels in hand when compared to others.
The OnePlus 6 launch date is still not known but it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with up to 256GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM. It will once again retain the 3.5mm headphone jack like its predecessor. And there might be also an exclusive Avengers Infinity Wars edition like December’s Star Wars Edition.
