Android is all about customization and personal preference. This is what makes it better than iOS and other now-defunct Operating Systems for smartphones. And launchers play an important role in this. Though we have a number of launchers for Android devices like Nova, Action to name a few, they consume more RAM. Thus, a developer at XDA has come up with a new version of Pixel launcher optimized for Android Go devices with low RAM.

This iteration of Pixel launcher consumes low RAM and also has support for icon packs which is absent in the original one. But, it has some drawbacks such as no support for widgets, limited to 4×4 desktop grid and absence of notification dots. Excluding these, the Android Go optimized Pixel launcher has all other options which are present in the regular version. Such as At A Glance widget, Google Feed, home screen rotation and adaptive icons.
