OnePlus is among the list of a few brands that take care of their users by providing rapid fast software updates. A few days ago OnePlus has rolled out the new Open Beta update for its OnePlus 3/3T and OnePlus 5/5T, now it looks like they are all ready for the official one. As revealed by OnePlus forums users are receiving the latest software update based on Android 8.1 Oreo on their OnePlus 5 and 5T. Let’s check out some in-depth details about the update.

This update is termed as the OxygenOS 5.1.0 and for now, it is released for the OnePlus 5/5T only. As described in the Changelog this new update brings all new Gaming mode which further optimizes the performance of processor and battery. One of the biggest noticeable refinement here is in terms of security. This new update brings April 2018 Security Patch which protects your device from various vulnerabilities. Some minimal changes have also been made to the launcher app of the device. As per OnePlus, for now, this update will arrive for limited units of the device and if everything goes fine remaining units will receive it too.

This new update weighs somewhere around 766 MB and we will suggest you to use a fast data connection to download it. With this software, OnePlus 5T will receive gesture navigation support. But OnePlus 5 will simply not be getting it. Some other internal changes will also be implemented with this update which is hardly visible. This is an OTA update and if you haven’t received it yet then there is nothing to bother as only limited units of OnePlus 5/5T are receiving it at present.
