Redmi 7A made its way to the Indian market back in July 2019 running MIUI 10.2 (based on Android 9.0). Since then the smartphone got a couple of compact updates, MIUI 10.2.7.0 and MIUI 11, which were again based on Android 9.0. The smartphone is finally up for a fresh new update MIUI 184.108.40.206 stable update (based on Android 10) in India. The news appeared via several posts on Mi Community, stating that Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 10 update for Redmi 7A in India.
This new update comes with version MIUI 220.127.116.11.QCMINXM and weighs approx. 1.6GB in size. It also brings in May security patch that helps fix security vulnerabilities and other bugs. While Redmi 7A already got this update in China, it is now available for the Indian units. You might have received a system notification already that a new system update is now available. The OTA update will be pushed in several phases and may reach to all the devices in the net few days/weeks. However, you might want to manually check for the update by heading to Settings > System Update.
This update brings in all the new and exciting features baked into Android 10. Redmi 7A is also included in the company’s roadmap to receive MIUI 12 update when it is officially available. MIUI 12 brings New System Animations, Icons, and Fonts, New Control Center, Improved navigation gestures, New App drawer, Live Wallpapers, Better Animations, Floating Windows, Forced Dark Mode, Improved Health Features and much more.
