Samsung is doing great with their flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series. But, the South Korean electric giant still lag behind in the entry-level and budget segment when compared to other major Chinese players. However, their Galaxy J series do well in some countries but the devices are not up to the mark. And to change this, Samsung may unveil their first Android Go powered Galaxy J2 Core soon.
However, don’t get too much hype as the Android Go powered smartphones are all about affordable smartphones with better performance. The first batch of Android Go smartphones was unveiled at MWC 2018 such as the Nokia 1 and ZTE Tempo Go. And to recall, this program was first announced in December 2017.
Coming to the upcoming Galaxy J2 Core, it was recently spotted on Geekbench database carrying the model number Samsung SM-J260G. Under the hood, it will be powered by Exynos 7570 (Android Go optimized) with 1 GB RAM. The chipset consists of four ARM Cortex-A53 cores which can reach a maximum clock rate of 1.43 GHz.
As for software, it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition with a plethora of Go apps pre-installed. Other specifications of the phone, as well as the release date, are still not known.
