Samsung Galaxy S9 reported to have Neural engine processor for enhanced AI

After Samsung Galaxy S8 now we have started receiving the rumours for Samsung Galaxy S9. The rumour states that S9 is going to get neural engine processor for improving its AI services. The Kirin 970 in Mate 10 has a NPU i.e neural processing unit to make its AI better than its competitors. So, to compete against its competitors, Samsung is trying to add additional AI features to the phone via Neural engine processor.

Such type of processing unit is also used for Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus as well as in iPhone X. Even Google has included it in Pixel 2 as well as Pixel 2 XL.

According to recent report, Samsung has invested a huge amount of money in a Chinese company which specialises in ‘deep learning technology’. This company has lot many clients including Amazon web services, Mediatek etc. The reason behind this investment in Deephi tech is its neural network compression technology and neural network hardware architecture.

Whether, Samsung Galaxy S9 is going to have neural processing chip along with Exynos 9810 or not as it is not confirmed. Though we aren’t sure about that since it’s a rumour. But we have to wait as a lot time is left for the launch of the Galaxy S9.

What is this deep neural network development?

It is a deep learning software that can help to enhance the deep learning applications. This accelerates the applications.
