Sony has just slash-down the prices of several of its smartphones in India. Now some fresh details are there according to which a new update is rolling out to a number of its devices. In case you are wondering this new update is basically a security-oriented update and is rolling out to devices including Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Xperia XZ Premium. The new update is arriving with the new firmware version 47.1.A.12.235. The update brings July 1 security patch and weighs around 279MB’s. The security update will only revamp the security policies of your device, however, the device still runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo. Surprisingly no further changes have been revealed through the changelog. Although one can surely expect some under the hood improvement in the device. There is no scope for manual update and it is only arriving as an OTA.

If you haven’t received the update yet then there is nothing to bother as currently, it is in the releasing phase and in a week or two will be made available to all units.
