LG’s 2016 flagship, the LG G5, is now receiving a software update on Verizon. This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches. Verizon did not specify exactly what is tweaked and fixed but says that the update, when tested, has shown improved overall device performance.
The update should be live for all LG G5 users on Verizon’s network. It will bring the phone’s build number up to version VS98728B and gives you the most up to date Android security patches (believed to be April security patch) on your device. This patch brings fixes for a number of critical vulnerabilities.
The software update will be sent to your phone automatically over-the-air. Since it includes important security patches, we suggest all LG G5 owners to instantly get hold of this update on their devices.
When you are ready to download, connect your device to a strong and reliable Wi-Fi network. Also ensure that your battery is charged sufficiently (at least 80 percent).
