Verizon is calling it “Advance Calling feature”. Actually, VoLTE HD Voice calls and its own video calling service is the technology they are going to offer under the WiFi calling banner.

Verizon is also in the race for WiFi Calling feature. AT&T rolled out its Wi-Fi calling feature in October for Apple iPhones, following in the path of T-Mobile and Sprint.

Through Wi-Fi calling, customers can place calls to U.S. numbers for free, while international calls will be charged at long distance rates. From Verizon:

When a customer uses Advanced Calling on our 4G LTE network and travels outside of coverage, the call will seamlessly transfer to a known Wi-Fi hotspot when available.

If you are using Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge then you can utilise this feature from Verizon. New phones will be added in the next year 2016 with iPhone also in line.
